I wanted to share some excited news! (Forgive me - it's not every day that Last Call makes front page news on Variety and The Hollywood Reporter!)
There were some tense moments in January watching the drama in NBC late-night unfold - not knowing what it would mean for us. I am very excited (and relieved) that the show made it through.
Last Call is like the Bad News Bears of Late Night. We may not win the championship- but we love what we do and somehow manage to stay in the game.
I've been working away lining up great guests and music for the show.. we already have some awesome stuff lined up like another COVER WEEK! This time we have Lily Allen, Weezer, David Gray and more.. so stay tuned!

Carson Daly's late-night talk show will not only continue on NBC, but with a new producer to freshen up the series.
NBC's latest late-night chat show "Last Call With Carson Daly" was considered to be on the bubble during the recent dust-up between Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien.
Now the network is set to announce that new episodes will begin March 1, following a six-week hiatus. The first week back will be stocked with guests who are Academy Award nominees.
Former "Daily Show With Jon Stewart" co-executive producer Stewart Bailey will take over as executive producer of the program. Bailey spent 10 years on the Comedy Central hit, rising through the ranks. Bailey starts working on the program this week, replacing David Friedman.
"I'm very happy to have Stewart on board," Daly said in a statement. "We have a shared vision to further enhance our documentary style. In our show, we'll continue to talk to great guests, find interesting stories and, as always, discover new music."
Daly's format will continue its current "no desk, no ties, no rules" format, shooting in various locations around Los Angeles and in other cities.

''Daily Show' alum to oversee NBC's latenight series"Daily Show" alum
Stewart Bailey has been tapped as the new exec producer of NBC's late-late-latenight "Last Call With Carson Daly." Bailey actually has been in the chair since Monday. He replaces David Friedman, who is now with CBS' "The Early Show."
Currently on a six-week hiatus, "Last Call" returns on Monday, March 1 (post-Winter Olympics), with a week of Academy Awards-themed shows.
"We have a shared vision to further enhance our documentary style," Daly said of the Bailey hire. "In our show, we'll continue to talk to great guests, find interesting stories and, as always, discover new music."
"Last Call" almost didn't make it this far: Under Jeff Gaspin's proposed Jay Leno/Conan O'Brien compromise, "The Tonight Show" and "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" would have moved back half an hour -- which would have left "Last Call" as the odd man out. Show hasn't been picked up beyond this season, however.
"Last Call" underwent a major shift last year, as the show abandoned its in-studio/audience format and became an on-location magazine of sorts. Show now features Daly as he travels to meet with musicians and celebs.
Bailey spent 10 years at "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart," starting as a field producer and moving on to co-exec producer. His credits also include "Iconoclasts" and Fox's "Talk Show With Spike Feresten." Guy Oseary is also an exec producer with Bailey.
Daly's first shows include interviews with Jason Reitman, Jeremy Renner, Eli Roth and Giovanni Ribisi.
Daly also recently took the gig as morning-drive radio host on Los Angeles' KAMP 97.1 FM ("Amp Radio").

PS our new EP Stewart is awesome (and i'm not just saying that because he reads this blog) Not only am I a fan of his work (I mean The Daily Show, Iconoclasts = amazing) he's simply a nice guy. and funny. I don't like anyone who isn't funny. I like him so much, I even made him a mix. He just got out here from NYC and asked me for some music for the car. I'll post it in case you want to check it out.
